As part of UON@50 celebrations, The College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences held its 3rd webinar on 28th October 2020, at 2.00PM. The guest speaker Prof.Sam Kariuki Director Centre for Microbiology Research KEMRI, Kenya, delivered a key address on "Antimicrobial resistance: One health threat." He explained on One health approach in Antimicrobial resistance as it is an increasingly serious global public threat.

The College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences held its second UoN@50 Webinar Series on Wednesday 7th October, 2020 from 2.00pm. The webinar was officially opened by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Kiama who pointed out the commitment of the College in supporting food and nutrition security in the country as well as globally. Prof.

The College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences and University of Nairobi at large has taken leadership to in part respond to this challenge; through capacity building for micro-propagation and certification of cassava planting materials to enhance productivity, incomes and food security and nutrition for small holder farmers in Coastal Kenya and Uganda.

All graduates of the 63rd Congregation for the conferment of degrees and award of diplomas held on September 25, 2020 are requested to collect their certificates at the University of Nairobi Central Examinations Centre, Chiromo Campus in the following order:

ACU Commonwealth Climate Resilience Challenge Grants are awarded to member universities to support initiatives addressing climate resilience. Aimed at academic and professional staff, the grants support collaborative work focused on either of the two main strategic priorities of the Commonwealth Climate Resilience Network (CCRN):

The University of Nairobi marks 50 years since it was transformed into the first national University in Kenya on July 1, 1970. 

The University Management has mandated several activities to be included in the golden jubilee celebrations at various levels. One of the activities is holding of webinars on research breakthroughs at the University of Nairobi as well as topical subjects involving local, national and global challenges and opportunities.

 The University of Nairobi in partnership with SNV and with support from FAO-Kenya and the Ministry of Agriculture will host a webinar to mark the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste on Tuesday, 29th September 2020 at 3pm.

A record 2,851 graduands were conferred degrees and awarded diplomas by the Chancellor, Dr. Vijoo Rattansi at the 63rd Graduation Ceremony on September 25, 2020 held at the Great Court..  Read More

The Allen School’s Global Health – Kenya will lead the Feed the Future Animal Health Innovation Lab program taking an interdisciplinary approach to addressing livestock diseases, working in partnership with scientists from the University of Nairobi, International Livestock Research Institute, Kenya Agriculture and Livestock Research Organization, and the Kenya Medical Research Institute.
