UoN @ 50 Webinar: Antimicrobial resistance; One health threat.

As part of UON@50 celebrations, The College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences held its 3rd webinar on 28th October 2020, at 2.00PM. The guest speaker Prof.Sam Kariuki Director Centre for Microbiology Research KEMRI, Kenya, delivered a key address on "Antimicrobial resistance: One health threat." He explained on One health approach in Antimicrobial resistance as it is an increasingly serious global public threat.

The College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences and University of Nairobi at large has taken leadership to in part respond to this challenge; through capacity building for micro-propagation and certification of cassava planting materials to enhance productivity, incomes and food security and nutrition for small holder farmers in Coastal Kenya and Uganda.

The University of Nairobi marks 50 years since it was transformed into the first national University in Kenya on July 1, 1970. 

The University Management has mandated several activities to be included in the golden jubilee celebrations at various levels.
