- Development of new bean seed varieties as a contribution to efforts towards food security
- Establishment of SEMIs as a strategic initiative to combat food security challenges, not just in Kenya, but in the rest of Sub-Sahara Africa
- Establishment of Wangari Maathai Institute as a vehicle to promote environmental sustainability and also as an avenue towards achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
- The College has over the years won several awards at the Annual Nairobi International Trade Fair
- The College has planted – and continues to plant – tree seedlings in their thousands as part of its contribution to environmental sustainability
