On October 16th 2023, Professor Paul Lunn accompanied by Dr Eric Fevre (UoL/ILRI) made a visit to the Faculty of Vet. Medicine, where they had a discussion with Prof. Mande and Chairmen of the departments on collaboration which will benefit both UoN and University of Liverpool and their partners.
Professor Lunn a specialist in large animals is the current dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Liverpool with interests in the one health philosophy and need for this to be addressed at a global level.
As the Dean, FVM, University of Liverpool, seeks greater exposure for UoL students from undergraduate level to understand global animal health issues in the contexts that they occur and is exploring partnerships and support for partners who can help achieve these objectives with the aim being to increase knowledge investment outside the UK and strengthen development focussed research.
The FVM, University of Nairobi is a strong Faculty with expertise in areas needed across the globe and actively involved in identifying solutions that enhance community development through research and collaboration, whereas University of Liverpool has world class equipment, tools and facilities.
UoN offers exposure to a wide variety of animals, pathogens and cultures that the former may not have access to in their context.
