Call for papers: International Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Scientific Conference (2023)

The University of Nairobi Faculty of Veterinary Medicine will be hosting the Annual International Conference on Veterinary Science (2023). With the theme "Harnessing Research in Veterinary Science for Resilience and Sustainability of Communities," this conference aims to gather experts from various fields to share best practices and the latest advancements in Veterinary Science.

QUEEN ELIZABETH SCHOLARSHIPS PROGRAM TO UoN STUDENTS

The University of Nairobi students from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) have benefited from the Queen Elizabeth Scholarships (QES) Program from Canada. This was revealed during a courtesy call to the Vice Chancellor by a delegation from Rideau Hall Foundation, Universities Canada and the University of the Frazer Valley all from Canada, on Thursday, May 6, 2023.

UNIVERSITY OF TENESSEE COLLABORATION WITH FACULTY OF VETERINARY MEDICINE, UoN

Our faculty was visited by Prof. Marcy Souza and Dr. Misty Bailey from University of Tenessee College of Veterinary Medicine on 21st June,2023. Prof. souza is the associate Dean office for outreach and global engagement, while Dr. Misty is an assistant professor of Practice and curriculum and assessment coordinator.

DR. LOICE OMBAJO, A UON EXPERT PUBLISHED IN THE NEW ENGLAND JOURNAL OF MEDICINE

Dr. Loice Ombajo made history when she got published in the New England Journal of medicine on Thursday, June 22, 2023. 

In an exclusive interview by the Directorate of Corporate Affairs, Dr. Ombajo revealed the content of her research article titled, ‘Second-line switch to Dolutegravir for treatment of HIV infection.’ She gave a brief history of what led to the research through clinical trials that took about 48 weeks. She underscored how  rare it is for an African black woman researcher to be featured in such a high end journal. 

UON AMONG THE GUILD-ARUA AFRICAN CENTRES OF EXCELLENCE

At their recent summit in Brussels, the Vice-Chancellors and Presidents of the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) and The Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities (The Guild) have launched seventeen research clusters that aim to transform the nature of collaborative research, foregrounding equity as a precondition for excellent and impactful research to address our common societal challenges.

UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI UNVEILS OFFICIAL ATTIRE

The University of Nairobi (UoN) unveiled its official attire on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 in a highly anticipated fashion event held at the ADD Building- Faculty of Built Environment and Design. The UoN attire, the result of collaborative efforts between faculty members and fashion design students, features a variety of designs that reflect the university's rich heritage and creative spirit. The colors, symbols, and patterns used in the designs were carefully selected to represent the university's values of excellence and diversity.
