The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine held its First Annual International Conference on 25th October to 27th October 2023 during the University of Nairobi’s 2023 Research Week.
The 3 day conference was officially opened by Deputy Vice Chancellor RIE, Prof. Margaret Jesang Hutchinson and Prof. J.D. Mande, the Dean, Faculty of Vet. Medicine.
The theme of this Conference was: “Harnessing Research in Veterinary Science for Resilience and Sustainability of Communities”. Research within animal science must largely focus on supporting human development, which is constantly threatened by major factors such as climate change, antimicrobial resistance, and emerging and re-emerging diseases.
This conference was a multi-disciplinary and brought together experts to share best practices and the latest developments in Veterinary Science through conference presentations and exhibitions. In addition, a Cooperate Social Responsibility activity was held on Saturday 28th October 2023 at Ndubuini Centre.
