One Health Training Needs Assessment of Middle Level Colleges
The University of Nairobi is celebrating its 50 years of existence as the first university to be chartered in Kenya. This is to mark and celebrate the many achievements made during the period. The Faculty of Agriculture has been part of this journey and has contributed immensely to capacity development, research contribution and policy support for the country and the region.
The University of Nairobi celebrated its first inaugural talent day which attracted many students and staff who showcased different talents from the different categories namely; music, singing and poetry, ICT and engineering innovation, arts design and fashion show, karate, taekwondo and dance, modeling, catwalk, Mr and Miss Talent day and other categories like bible citation, narrative/spoken word, instrumentals and news presenters.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Gitahi Kiama visited the College on Wednesday March 3, 2021 from 3:00 pm. The purpose of the visit was to check on the progress regarding renovation works at Tana Kitchen so as to enable students use the new kitchen. The renovation had been going on for the last one year and 90% of the work had been done. The contractor informed the Vice-Chancellor that the pace of the work had been slowed down by impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The University of Nairobi (UoN) has been fully accredited to train students in BSc. Food Nutrition and Dietetics at the Department of Food Science, Nutrition and Technology. As a leading institution in Kenya and the region, UoN has been offering the program based on interim license.

The Strengthening Kenyan Small-scale Mango Processors to Access Market and Reduce Losses (SAP) Project team has embarked on a series of training and capacity building activities for mango farmers and processors in Kenya. The SAP project is a collaborative initiative between the University of Nairobi (UON) and Purdue University (USA) which is supported by the Rockefeller Foundation (Yieldwise initiative).
The College of Agriculture and Veterinary Services recorded very good performance in the just concluded Performance Contracting awards held on Friday 29th January 2021 at Taifa Hall.
