The dean faculty of veterinary medicine and Deputy Vice Chancellor, RPE and other university staff visited the above institution to access their facilities and gather information of their training needs. From the needs assessment and in collaboration with the sponsor (IGAD) the faculty of veterinary medicine developed a Bachelor of Science course on Biomedical Laboratory technology degree. The degree can also be taken by other IGAD countries.
