On March 6, 2016, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine had the privilege of receiving a delegation from Elyn Agrifoods Kenya to discuss pig farming and potential opportunities within Kenya. The visit provided an avenue for exploring strategic collaboration and capacity-building initiatives
Key discussions during the visit included:
- Potential Areas of Collaboration – Identifying mutually beneficial partnerships between the Faculty and Elyn Agrifoods Kenya.
- Capacity Building for Students – Organizing guest lectures and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance students’ practical and theoretical skills.
- Establishment of Large-Scale Pig Farming – Exploring the development of commercial pig farming projects in collaboration with the Faculty.
- Student Placement and Attachments – Providing opportunities for students to participate in practical attachments during long holidays.
- International Training Opportunities – Training for the top ten performing students in the Netherlands to gain advanced skills and exposure.
The Faculty expresses appreciation to Elyn Agrifoods Kenya for their visit and looks forward to fostering productive collaborations that will enhance education, research, and practical training in pig farming.
