After a hiatus of three years marked by virtual and hybrid ceremonies, the University of Nairobi is all set to celebrate its 69th graduation ceremony in person. Graduands who have been eagerly anticipating their turn to don the cap and gown are in for a remarkable celebration.
The 69th graduation ceremony is scheduled to take place on Friday, September 22nd, 2023, at the famous Graduation Square. However, this year's event will be divided into two separate ceremonies, held on the same day. The 1st Ceremony will be from 7:30 -10:30 am, whilst the 2nd Ceremony will be from 12:00-3:00pm.
The Ceremonies will be characterized by the solemn graduation processions, the donning of the cap for the PhD Graduands by the Chancellor, the name-reading of all the Masters and the Undergraduate graduands as is the culture of graduation ceremonies and a chance for the UoN classes to celebrate with their colleagues, friends and parents/guardians.
To participate in the graduation, a mandatory convocation fee of 1000 is required to be paid before filling out the application for graduation. For those attending the physically, a fee of Kshs. 2,500 and the rest is the cost to hire a graduation gown of Kshs. 4,000.
