COURTESY CALL BY DELEGATION FROM ILRI AND CEVA SANTE ANIMALE TO THE DEAN, FVM

On Friday 7 th November, 2025 the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine was privileged to host a
delegation from International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) led by Musa M. Mulongo,
PhD, who is a Senior Scientist, Health, Team Leader (a.i) Vaccines & Diagnostics |TAHSSL
Platform Coordinator International Livestock Research Institute and CEVA Sante Animale, the
5 th  largest Global Animal Health Company led by Dr. Theofanis Kanellos - Head of Institutional
Alliances, whose team included Dr. Wycliffe Ongeri - Product Manager and Monitoring &
Evaluation, Ms. Valentine de Ranglaunche - Rep CEVA-Kenya, and Ms. Marie Ducrotoy -
Business Development and Alliances.

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine team was led by Dr. T.O Abuom who also represented the
Faculty Dean, Prof. George Gitau - Dept. clinical Studies, Dr. Lucy Njagi - Dept. VPMP, Dr.
Willy Mwangi - Chair (Ag), Clinical Studies and Issa Shamir Administrator in the Dean’s
Office.

The purpose of meeting was to explore potential opportunities for collaboration in the areas of
Animal Health and Veterinary including Companion Animals, Aquaculture, Ruminants,
Surveillance, Swine and Apiculture. The team agreed to further their engagement to ensure the
realization of the deliberations.

After the meeting, the delegation toured the faculty facility including Small Animal Clinic and
the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Animal Health Molecular and Diagnostic Laboratory.
