63RD GRADUATION CEREMONY ON 25TH SEPTEMBER, 2020.

The University of Nairobi wishes to inform all students  who qualified for the award of various degrees and diplomas at the end of last academic year (2019/2020) and members of the public, that the 63 rd Graduation Ceremony will be held VIRTUALLY on Friday, September 25, 2020 commencing at 9.00 a.m. at the Chancellor’s Court. The event will be streamed live through the following links;

In Unity and Service Prayer devotion

The virtual inter-denomination prayer day was led by the University Chaplains; Rev. Hosea Mitei, Mohamed Swaleh and Father Peter Kaigua. The reading of the day was from 1Corinthians 12:12-20 - "The body as a unit." The University of Nairobi family is one body, united, combined and integrated in different parts. We are from the same body though we function differently. This were the words from Rev.

Research Week 2020

This will be the first Research Week event to held online due to on going COVID 19 pandemic. The 3rd Annual event hosted by the University of Nairobi will be  in October from 13th to 15th,  2020.

The week features over ten different conferences covering a diverse range of academic disciplines, one of which is bound to meet your interest and area of expertise. The conferences provide a forum to enable you to present your work, engage with your colleagues, and learn about the latest developments in your field.

The dual and joint degree programmes are a form of higher education qualifications that are rapidly gaining traction worldwide in institutions of higher learning. HISTORY AS THE 8TH VICE CHANCELLOR UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI IS VIRTUALLY INSTALLED

Historically, installation of a Vice Chancellor is an essentially significant and functionally symbolic rite of passage. In the University rich in tradition and heritage, installation is a symbolic rite of transition signifying succession at the helm of the university. It signifies that one leadership era has ended and ushers in a new one.

The University of Nairobi through the office of career services has organized a series of interactive  online seminars (webinars) which shall expose students to job market.

RUFORUM Calls for training programs with Support from Carnegie Cooperation of New York

The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM), established by ten Vice Chancellors in 2004, is a consortium of 126 African universities operating within 38 countries spanning the African continent. RUFORUM is coordinated by a Secretariat hosted by Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda. 

RUFORUM supports universities to address the important and largely unfulfilled role that universities play in contributing to the well‐being of small scale farmers and economic development of countries throughout the sub‐ Saharan Africa region.

How to access E-learning resources for students and researchers

  1. For students:
    1. Using the “student mail” link at the bottom of the UoN Homepage (https://mail2.uonbi.ac.ke/), create a UoN e-mail account using registration number and National ID/passport.
    2. Create a network access account on students email link (https://mail2.uonbi.ac.ke/) - use the email created in Step (a) above.
    3. You will receive network access account details through the already created students email account.

 

UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI – PARISTECH COLLABORATION

In February 23-29th 2020, a delegation from the University of Nairobi led by Prof. Francis Mulaa, Prof. Rose Nyikal Principal CAVS, Prof. Leonida Kerubo, Prof Ayub Gitau and Dr. Thomas Ochuku Mbuya visited ParisTech to explore opportunities of cooperation between Paris Tech Graduate Engineering Schools and the University of Nairobi, in order to develop joint academic programs, industrial linkages, staff and students mobility, and research collaboration.
