FIRSY YEARS ADMISSION (CLASS OF 2024/2025 K.C.S.E)

On Monday 18th September 2025, The Faculty of Vet.Med was pleased to welcome the class of 2024/2025 KCSE  first year students in BVM and Bsc.Wildlife Management and Conservation students at the Dept.of Vet.Anatomy and Physiology,Chiromo Campus.

The registration of the first year students was conducted by the Faculty Management Members  led by the Dean, Prof J.D.Mande  and the Associate Dean Prof Samuel M.Githigia.  

VET. PATHOLOGY TREE PLANTING INITIATIVE.

In alignment with the National Tree Growing Restoration Campaign and in compliance with Presidential Directives aimed at growing 15 billion trees nationwide by the year 2032, the Department of Veterinary Pathology, Microbiology and Parasitology conducted a successful tree-growing exercise on May 9, 2025, at the Kanyari Veterinary Farm.

UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI COUNCIL VISIT TO FACULTY

The University of Nairobi Council on Monday 16, 2024 visited the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine to gain an in-depth understanding of its academic processes, research initiatives, and supporting infrastructure.

The Council was received by the Dean and Faculty management committee members, where the Dean introduced them to the council.

During the visit, they explored the faculty’s academic programs, and overall quality assurance mechanisms.

Students conduct practical experiments in Toxicity studies

Students from the Department of Veterinary Anatomy and Physiology had the opportunity to conduct extensive practical experiments in Toxicity studies on Paragon Insecticidal spray formulation.

Toxicity studies in the animal models are done to determine the dose level recommended for the treatment of disease. Toxicity testing is paramount in the screening of newly developed drugs before it can be used on animals.
