The Department of PHPT Chairman Dr. Joshua Onono and PHPT staff members together with  Prof. Wondwossen A. Gebreyes, Executive Director of Global One Health Initiative (GoHi) and his team from Ohio State University held a meeting, to review the collaboration between PHPT and Ohio State University on Global  one Health Research and Capacity building for postgraduate students and staff members.

The 4th Year BSc.Fisheries and Aquaculture Management Out-going class took a photo with the Dean Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, Chairman of Department Prof J. Maina with their lecturers Dr. R.C. Bette and CMs. C. Onura after their last examination on Wednesday 17/05/2023 after intensive training of four years.

Dr. Lance O’Brien(CSARIDE Project Coordinator), Kahsay Negash(CSARIDE Project Manager), Prof Woldeamlak Araia- Dean, Hamelmalo Agricultural College visited the University of Nairobi, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine to follow up on the progress of the Eritrea students who are doing various Master program. They Met the Dean, Faculty of Vet Medicine Prof. D. Mande, Dr. R. C Bett(Co-ordinator of Eritrea Students), Prof C. K Gachuiri(Animal Nutrition), Dr. Onono(Chairman Pharmacology, Public Health, and Toxicology Dept).

One Health Training Needs Assessment of Middle Level Colleges

The University of Nairobi, Washington State University, and the International Livestock Research Institute recently received a grant from the United States Aid for International Development (USAID) under the Feed the Future Animal Health Innovation Lab.

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is proud of its four ladies graduands who will be awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) of the University of Nairobi at the 64th graduation ceremony on Friday December 11, 2020.

As part of UON@50 celebrations, The College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences held its 3rd webinar on 28th October 2020, at 2.00PM. The guest speaker Prof.Sam Kariuki Director Centre for Microbiology Research KEMRI, Kenya, delivered a key address on "Antimicrobial resistance: One health threat." He explained on One health approach in Antimicrobial resistance as it is an increasingly serious global public threat.

The College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences Principal Professor Rose Nyikal welcomed all new students to the new normal due to COVID 19 Pandemic. It is part of the freshmen orientation where new students are welcomed to the CAVS community.

One Health Central and Eastern Africa (OHCEA) is an international network of eleven public health, ten veterinary higher education institutions, College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences being among them.

The fifth-year Veterinary students celebrated their 2019 dinner at the Department of Clinical Studies. Such special gatherings are present an invaluable opportunity for students to meet and network with their lecturers and alumni.
