The linkage between the University and the alumni is critical in forging strong partnership and collaboration for quality capacity development. There has been a weak linkage between the learning institution and their alumni, which has impacted on efforts to strengthen partnership and development of initiatives that address the current needs.
The College held its fourth webinar on 4th November, 2020 as University of Nairobi celebrates 50 years of academic excellence. The main Speaker was Prof. Stephen Kiama, the Vice-Chancellor and three other panelists; Ms. Marion Kamau - Chair of the Board, the Green Belt Movement – Kenya, Prof. R. G.
As part of UON@50 celebrations, The College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences held its 3rd webinar on 28th October 2020, at 2.00PM. The guest speaker Prof.Sam Kariuki Director Centre for Microbiology Research KEMRI, Kenya, delivered a key address on "Antimicrobial resistance: One health threat." He explained on One health approach in Antimicrobial resistance as it is an increasingly serious global public threat.
The College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences held its second UoN@50 Webinar Series on Wednesday 7th October, 2020 from 2.00pm. ACU Commonwealth Climate Resilience Challenge Grants are awarded to member universities to support initiatives addressing climate resilience. The Allen School’s Global Health – Kenya will lead the Feed the Future Animal Health Innovation Lab program taking an interdisciplinary approach to addressing livestock diseases, working in partnership with scientists from the University of Nairobi, International Livestock Research Institute, Kenya Agriculture and Livestock Research Organization, and the Kenya Medical Research Institute.
The Shamba Shape Up Series 10 - Ep 24 aired on Citizen TV features the Zero Energy Brick Cooler (ZEBC), one of the technologies installed at the newly established 'Innovative Cold Storage Technologies: Research, Training and Demonstration Unit' at the field station of the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences.
