Training of small-scale farmers and traders at the Food Processing Hub

The Strengthening Kenyan Small-scale Mango Processors to Access Market and Reduce Losses (SAP) Project team has embarked on a series of training and capacity building activities for mango farmers and processors in Kenya. The SAP project is a collaborative initiative between the University of Nairobi (UON) and Purdue University (USA) which is supported by the Rockefeller Foundation (Yieldwise initiative).

The linkage between the University and the alumni is critical in forging strong partnership and collaboration for quality capacity development. UoN @ 50 Webinar: Antimicrobial resistance; One health threat.

As part of UON@50 celebrations, The College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences held its 3rd webinar on 28th October 2020, at 2.00PM. The guest speaker Prof.Sam Kariuki Director Centre for Microbiology Research KEMRI, Kenya, delivered a key address on "Antimicrobial resistance: One health threat." He explained on One health approach in Antimicrobial resistance as it is an increasingly serious global public threat.

Commonwealth Climate Resilience Challenge Grants

ACU Commonwealth Climate Resilience Challenge Grants are awarded to member universities to support initiatives addressing climate resilience. Aimed at academic and professional staff, the grants support collaborative work focused on either of the two main strategic priorities of the Commonwealth Climate Resilience Network (CCRN):
